An AI-first desktop browser on the Servo engine. No Chromium. All Rust. Pre-alpha, week 1.
Pre-alpha
MythBrowse is in its first week of development. Everything below describes what exists in the repository today; nothing here is a release, and features will change.
MythBrowse is an AI-first desktop browser built on the Servo engine. No Chromium. All Rust. It targets Windows first, with Linux support too.
The current status is week 1: the browser chrome, history, bookmarks and tab sleeping. The AI in the address bar is an offline stub until week 2.
? to search the web.Ctrl+D bookmarks a page and Ctrl+H opens the library. Both are stored on your machine in a local SQLite profile.MythBrowse is a set of Rust crates: the mythbrowse shell (window, chrome and tab compositing, input), a thin Servo wrapper with the tab model and omnibox, SQLite storage for history and bookmarks, an AI gateway with an OpenAI-compatible and Ollama configuration, and a built-in ad and tracker blocker. A site-compatibility layer and an end-to-end encrypted sync client exist as stubs.
The roadmap lives in the project's plan document; the next milestone mentioned in the README is turning on the AI home in week 2. Dates beyond that are not announced. Join the waitlist to hear when early builds open up, or read the MythBrowse docs.
